Learn How To Play Electric Guitar

For years, I wanted to learn how to play electric guitar

In playing the guitar, it is essential that you first know about each part of the instrument.  Whether acoustic, classical or electric-acoustic, a guitar has basically the same parts.  It is usually made up of the headstock, the neck and the body.  On the headstock you will find the tuning pegs, and connecting the neck to the headstock is the nut.  The frets are located on the neck, where you place your fingers when playing the guitar.

If you want to learn how to play electric guitar, you will find that instead of the sound hole located on the body of the guitar you will find the pick-ups which capture the sound the strings make and amplifies it.  You will also find a pick-up switch on the body of the guitar which is used to select the pick-up for a specific tone or sound.

Also located on the body of the guitar is the bridge where the strings are anchored.   Connected to the bridge is the tremolo, a bar which can be moved either up or down in order to change the pitch.  You will also find the volume and tone control knobs on the body of the electric guitar.

The frets are very important in electric guitar playing.  These are metal strips that run across the guitar’s neck and determine what sound the guitar will make.  To learn how to play electric guitar, one must know these parts of the guitar because they control every sound or note that the guitar makes.

It is also important that you learn how to hold the electric guitar, making sure that the back of the guitar’s body is in contact with your chest or stomach and the bottom of the neck should be parallel to the floor.   You can play the electric guitar either sitting or standing.  You will need a shoulder strap if you choose to play the electric guitar standing.

After this you can then proceed to learn how to play electric guitar chords which are basically the same as in playing guitar chords on an acoustic guitar.  You will find that it is such a wonderful experience when you start to learn how to play electric guitar.
